The purpose of golf swing drills is to create a memory in your body about how it feels. Golf swing drills can also help your muscles feel the worst golf swing. You can do this by slowing down your golf swing in order to increase awareness of all movements, including the impact, backswing and follow through.

How can you create a golf swing that is both accurate and distance-producing? You can feel the power of the golf swing in the slow-snapping and fluid coiling of the muscles as you backswing.

These are the two most powerful drills to help develop your body coil.

1. The Golf Swing Drill is a Powerful Body Productive Tool.

This drill allows you to experience how your body feels when it’s coiled to the best level for a backswing. This drill is simple and will help you improve your golf swing.

You should now start swinging your club to the maximum height of your back swing. For a complete stretch, you should have your golf club in the air. To accommodate the stretch, your left arm and shoulder will need to be slightly bent. As the energy gathers in your body, it should feel tighter.

Perform the down swing next. Just before the ball hits it, pause the swing. It will be easy to feel how your body moves in the downward swing. You can also see how your left leg aligns with the right foot and how your body weight shifts toward the left.

You can now return to the backswing or downswing by hitting the ball several times and following through. Pay attention to how your body moves during backswing. It will move more to the right and uncoils faster during downswing. Be aware of the angle at which your golf club hits the ball, and how it flies up until you follow through.

One plane makes for more powerful golf swings. You can improve your arm rotation with this next golf drill.

Without a club, take a position at the address and play golf. You should balance your weight equally between both of your feet. Now let your arms relax naturally. Then bring your hands palm to your chest.

Next, rotate your hips and arms so that you can do a backswing. Keep your palms in contact with each other while keeping your hands still on your hips. You will need to maintain this contact between your palms and your hands by keeping your right arm straight while rotating your arms. You can’t do half-backswing from this position.

It is vital that you practice this drill because it helps your arms rotate properly into a backswing posture. For right-handed persons, the left arm should be straight and both arms must remain close to each other during the backswing.
