Three Important Lessons from the Movie Tin Cup: Golf

Tin Cup is the film that will make you a great golfer. It is, in my opinion, one of the best golf films ever made. However, most people are unaware that the movie contains three great lessons for golf swing.

First lesson It doesn’t take a perfect swing to be successful. Actually, I find the swings of the main characters to be quite ugly. An effective swing is one that the club face meets the ball at impact. Fred Couples is not your only role model. Be yourself and don’t worry about what you look like.

This is the second lessonSuccessful golfers must be careful with their egos. It is fun to watch a man self-destruct on the big screen, but the important thing is that you can control your emotions and maintain a healthy ego. You will be much better off long term.

Last lessonIt is a mental game that is more important than it is physically. Remember when Roy was awarded the “shanks”He thought that he had lost his way at the driving range. He was spraying all over the course when he got to practice at the US Open.

Roy got his swing back only after his caddy Romeo instructed him to put his tee under his ear, move the change between one and the other pocket. What’s the reason? It was because his brain wasn’t hindering him. His brain was not getting in the way.  He began to smash the ball down in the middle.

Tin Cup not only entertains but also offers great tips for golfers.
