Slicing the ball from the tee is the one thing that most golfers fear more than missing three feet. Two articles were written this week. 52 ways to stop your sliceAnd the second. There are 52 ways to stop a slice if you understand what causes it.This is a bonus section for Golf Improvement Weekly.
Part 1You have the option to fix your slice in a complex or simple way. This is what the average person will be saying. “Well Marc, I want the Simple Solution.”However, when you get to work on your slice with these Simple Solutions, an average golfer will say – “Yeah but, what about working on an inside to out swing path, what about turning my wrist over at impact, isn’t my swing too flat, shouldn’t I work on getting my elbow down to my side to get the club in the correct position on the downswing?”Due to the Golf Instruction Experts or Gurus we see each week, we believe that simple tasks such as Slicing Off The Tee require complex corrections. We also assume that swing adjustments are necessary.
It’s fascinating to hear how difficult it is for you to improve your golf swing. I love seeing your smiles when you are able to stop slicing the ball by using a few of our drills.
Fascinating? What is Fascinating?
We see that most golfers don’t realize how many things are going on within their heads when they swing. I find it hard to believe you continue playing this game. It’s too hard to play golf. Like the Monkey says, “It’s hard work for golfers.” “A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work!”When I see that, I will believe it. Although I don’t work in an office environment often enough, I cannot imagine anyone banging on their computer and shouting the exaggerations they use on the nearby golf course. Telling everyone within earshot about how they failed to complete an important assignment would get you fired.
But on the course, we often see golf clubs hitting the ground. I’m happy to share more. “salty”I speak a different language now than when I was High School. “Oh man, this is the worst golf I’ve ever played!”Don’t be down about yourself. You’ve played only 2-holes. “Yeah but I’ve never played this bad in my entire life.”It’s not clear to me why you haven’t twice bogied 2 holes in a row over all your years of playing golf. “Well yes, I have. But, I just don’t feel comfortable right now with my swing. I just feel off and I’m not having fun!”You didn’t just say to me, “A bad day on the course is better than an excellent day at work?”
You must be really miserable in your job!
Stop a Slice by not becoming so angry at yourself that it becomes a $1,000,000 bill. The tightness you feel when holding the club too tightly doesn’t end at your hands. It travels up through your arms, shoulders and neck all the way to your brain. When all of this tension is coursing through your body, your swing becomes more difficult. “Stuck”When you should be “Stuck”To be successful, you must find a method to do so. “Unstuck”This usually means that you will have to compensate somewhere in your swing for what you are missing. “Stuck”Compensation can lead to inconsistency, which could include slicing the ball off the Tee. Robert Z, how’s that for a long sentence?
According to The Monkey “I read that if I Slice Off The Tee that I should tee my ball up on the right-side of the tee box (for a righty Golfer – left side for a lefty Golfer) and aim to the left to allow my ball to have more room to Slice.”That one is a mystery to me. How does it help to keep the Tee from being sliced off? “Well, it won’t stop me from Slicing Off The Tee, but it’ll allow me more room to allow the ball to Slice.”You’re right, you would have more space to slice off the Tee. If you already know that you will Slice it, this would also be an excellent PLAN. My belief is that bad Aim can lead to Slice-Off Tees for most Golfers.
To make up the difference, you will need to compensate somewhere.
You will need to compensate if the Aim of your swing is poor. Even if you make good shots, the ball may not go in the direction you want. The majority of Monkeys, however, will instead try to correct their Aim and fix their golf swing. The next time you swing, rather than fixing your Aim, it will feel like you have to fix your swing.
My goodness, there are 50 more ways for me to Stop Your Slice.
These are the 50 ways to stop your slice. If you want Golf Tips to improve your score, then this is not the right place. Golf Tips don’t apply to us. Golf Made Simple uses Reality. Don’t compare us to other instructors that you may have heard or read about. Our approach is completely different to what’s already available. Our goal is to help you improve your golf game and reduce the Slice off The Tee. We have thousands of testimonials from returning players and referals to support this claim. However, our method doesn’t employ the ineffective technique used by 9 out of 10 instructors. Their instructors will show you how to play the positions you want, and they won’t stop there. “Theories and Assumptions” about swing path, swing plane, grip, etc, etc, etc –
You will feel the movement of your golf swing like you have never before.
Graham Nicholson, a former student of one our classes recently stated that he believes in ‘The Power of One. “Usually when you go to a Golf School you’re worried about pounding 1000’s of golf balls and tearing up your hands. On our 2nd day at Golf Made Simple we hit maybe 80 to 90 golf balls and I got more out of that session than I could’ve dreamed of. And that translated into hitting the golf ball better than I ever have before. It was truly more about quality than quantity!”
For A Slice off the Tee to Stop – Everything in your swing must be working together for a straight club face when you hit impact. That’s it! This is the solution! To get your body moving, however, drills such as The Symetrical Drill and Parallel Hands and Riding Hands are necessary. Eyes closed, The Grass Cutter and Tire Drills, The Ace Bandage Drill and The Baseball Drill will help you.
Which drill works best for you?
We will not know until you work with us to find the best fit for your Golf Swing. You can rest assured, however that the Drills will help you feel your Golf Swing. 7/10 Golfers have trouble feeling their swing. 9/10 Golfers aren’t sure what to feel. Even though most Golfers struggle to feel their swing, almost all of the golf instruction is focused on getting the club into the right position. Not about feel, getting the club into certain positions isn’t about it. It’s all about making you a better golfer and giving you more to consider on your next golf swing. When you are playing off the first Tee, do you want more than 16 other Golfers looking at you?
All the Golf Tips you hear from Monkeys (other golfers) are compensations for fixing other Compensations. There is no way to have confidence when your 52-Compensations Are To Stop Your Slice are constantly on your mind. What is the secret to kids’ smoothest and most beautiful swings? You wonder what they are thinking of on every swing. Most likely – “I hope that Adult doesn’t come over here and try to teach me what they’re struggling to do!”
Children are enjoying their golf swings, and they feel more confident than you because they have fun. Average Golfers are unhappy with their golf swing. They feel less satisfied every time they practice at the Driving Range because they’re learning Positions and not feeling their swing.
The Kid who said it would be my belief “A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at School!”
Golfers dissatisfied with their game are 9/10. “A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work!”It must have been a horrible job! But 9 out 10 Golfers are not happy with their Golf Game and continue to use Golf Tips. “Theories and Assumptions”These are just compensations to help you improve your game. You need to realize that the Golf Tips you have tried and will try again are not going to disappear from your game. Swing tips are forever embedded in your golf swing, whether or not you choose to ignore them. Every thing you think of during practice is part of your swing.
Your swing basically consists of one Compensating Manual stacked on top of the other.
It’s a wonderful thing that all these Compensations are working together to give you a solid shot at golf. However, if all those Compensations aren’t working you will hit inconsistent shots. I have a question for you: “Are your Compensations usually working together to produce Consistent shots?
Part 2 – What causes a Slice? For a Righty – Side Spin to the right. For a Lefty – Side Spin to the left.
What causes a Golfer to say I need to read an article that’s going to give me 52-Reasons How To Stop A Slice? Listening to the Monkeys and so called Guru’s handing Tip after Tip after Tip to you. Or should I say Compensation after Compensation after Compensation to you. And you know what Compensation equates to? Inconsistency! If you built your home like you built your golf swing – The Big Bad Wolf would be able to “”Huff, puff and destroy your home!” You don’t need to depend on compensations or golf tips to make your slice. If you have a strong foundation, and use it to build your golf swing.
You don’t have to give up on a swing built around Compensations. Are You Confused?

Marc – Your Instructor for Life
