The distance you can cover with hybrids or fairway woods is almost the same, but the swing style is entirely different. You will blunder a lot of divots if you hit an iron that is too big. Not so with the fairwaywood and hybrid.
For a fairway wood to be hit correctly, you need your feet shoulder distance from the ball. The ball should be slightly forward of your spine and arms if you have your spine straightened. If you’re right-handed, the ball should align with your left or right foot. South paws will need to place their right foot in front.

Although fairway woods can be great clubs, you must know where and when to use them. You shouldn’t use these clubs if you are trying to retrieve the ball from the weeds. If you are on the fairway at a distance from the green and can see the woods or hybrids, they will cover a lot. It is important to know how to and when you should use them.
Practice, practice, and practice more. It’s the only way you’ll get the feel for these types of clubs and it’s the only way you’ll learn how far they can go for you in your game
