You have the terrible job of organizing the girls or boys golf tour Ireland, or anywhere else in 2015/2016. Please read the following paragraphs. I want to share some of my ideas that can help you organize a memorable golf vacation for all. Here are some key points that I will highlight to help you avoid making a total disaster out of your task. Here I’ll be helping you to build an Irish Golf Tour.
Create a check list… Make a list. You can detail the golf courses and transportations.
It is important to get the group’s consensus on which courses they want to play. Be realistic, and I will be your guide. While the idea of playing Waterville or Royal Portrush on the same trip sounds fantastic, it is a long journey and can cause you to lose time playing golf.
You should decide where you want to play golf before you do. I usually divide Ireland into four areas, but the locations can overlap depending upon the course you choose.
Courses at Southwest golf links: Ballybunion GC. Doonbeg GC. Dooks GC. Lahinch GC. Old Head Golf Links. Tralee GC. & Waterville Golf Links.
Golf courses located in southwest parkland include Adare Golf Club (at Manor House), Cork Golf Club, Adare Golf Club and Killeen at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club.
Dublin Links (Baltray European Club, The Island and Portmarnock G.C., Portmarnock Links & Royal Dublin).
North & West Golf Links: Both courses at Ballyliffin and Carne. Enniscrone. Narin & Portnoo. Northwest, Portsalon. Rossapenna. Rosses Point. Please note that it takes quite a bit of travel to reach places in West Ireland and North West Ireland.
Northern Ireland Golf Links: Ardglass. Both Royal County Down courses are also available. Also, Royal Portrush Castlerock & Port Stewart.
A sample of some of the Irish golf tours segments is available by mixing up South West & Dublin or North West & Northern. Keep your journeys to each place as short and sweet as possible. You don’t want to pack too much in a four-day, five-day or seven day Irish Golf Tour.
This is where the trick lies. You should make sure that you are not spending too much time driving, or on a bus. Spend your time in the local area. It is likely that you will make new friends from the socializing at the pubs. Maybe you even get inspired to start fishing while you are there. You will be able to find the best places for great entertainment and nice dinners. Maybe even a couple of pints with your caddies.
You should ensure that everyone is happy with your financial commitment before booking anything. If you book 12 players in Ballybunion using your credit card details, the entire bill will be due upfront. You don’t want any extra fees that Tom adds. “oh no, I forgot, it’s my kids birthday that week and I can’t go!”
You can arrange comfortable chauffeured transport and, if possible, avoid driving cars or trucks. My clients should avoid cheap rental cars. There can be poor customer service and chaos if the van or car breaks down in an unexpected place. I’ve seen too many catastrophes, and can still hear the famous last words. “ooooh, I should have listened.”
Book guesthouses & bed and Breakfasts if this is your first Irish Golf Tour. You will meet Ireland in this way. It will be fun to meet new people and have meaningful conversations. You will be glad you did it. You can even stay one night at a B&B.
Please give me call if the workload is overwhelming. I’ll create an unforgettable golf getaway for everyone. You can do a lot more in Ireland than just playing golf. I am happy to help you with that. Although you could leave this job to the average tour operator for golf, I can suggest more things and locations to explore.
You can contact me with any questions you may have about your golf trip to Ireland. You can enjoy Ireland and I wish you all the best!
