The new insert gives the player a solid feeling, and a pleasing sound when they hit. It also provides a better feel even with off-centre hits. Wilson Staff Ci9 Irons are also equipped with a hidden rear-cavity exoskeleton. This allows Wilson to move weight closer to the foot and ankle, giving rise to a greater moment of inertia. This weight distribution allows for greater stability. It also places the centre of gravity closer to the sweet spot. To provide greater consistency and feel, the Ci9 irons can be ordered with Aldila VS Graphite shafts and/or with FST Step-Less Steel shafts. These Ci9 irons have U grooves that are modified to meet R&A standards.
