While you used to be able to predict at least one Will Smith movie every year, that was not the case anymore since 2008. Smith was not on the set, but he has worked behind the scenes to produce Jaden’s film. “The Karate Kid”. The good news? Will Smith will once more be in front of the camera when he stars next. “Men in Black”Yes, they’re making another movie. As we wait to see more alien-busting action this is my Top 10 Will Smith Movies.
10) The Legend of Bagger Vance
Rannulph Junnah lived it all. He was a legendary Savannah golfer, and even dated Adele Invergordon. All that is now changed when Rannulph Junnah returns from war to Savannah as an older man who has become more into gambling and drinking than golf. Adele, who inherits both her father’s golf course as well as his debts, is forced to find a quick way to raise funds and organizes the most memorable game of golf. Junnah convinces Bobby Jones and Waler Hagen to come to her place after they have convinced the locals to allow a local golfer to compete alongside them. Junnah has lost confidence in his golf swing and is sure to disappoint. However, Junnah finds a man named Bagger Vance offering to serve as Junnah’s caddy.
It is true that I do enjoy it. “The Legend of Bagger Vance”The mysticism and zen-like golf sequences make it all seem a little fairytale. Will Smith turns a charming and fun character in BaggerVance into an engaging movie.
Men in Black (1997)
James Darrel Edwards, III finds himself on chase for a criminal. This brings him to Agent Kay’s attention who introduces him the MiB top secret agency that is responsible for controlling all aliens living on this planet. After convincing Edward’s and Jay to sign up for this agency, Jay becomes Agent Jay. They find themselves on the ground as the planet faces destruction, unless Jay finds an Alien terrorist searching for ambassador’s.
The sequel didn’t live up to the first. “Men in Black”This movie was fun and made Will Smith’s hit song a number one. Smith gives a very enjoyable performance. He delivers plenty of humor and action. Smith’s surprise collaboration with Tommy Lee Jones makes it a fun movie from beginning to end.
Hancock (2008)
John Hancock can be a troubled person. He has superpowers that he tries to use to make goo. But he also enjoys his alcohol, which often leads to disastrous consequences and the creation of a mess. While trying to save Ray Embrey, a PR man from getting hit by a train, he accidentally makes a new friend and works towards improving Hancock’s public image. Ray Embrey is happy for all of this, but Ray’s wife doesn’t like Hancock entering their home.
The first is this: “Hancock”This movie doesn’t do justice to the story. The film feels almost like two movies combined into one. Will Smith does a great job as John Hancock, Smith making a memorable villain and providing some comedy along with lots of action. Smith’s performance is subpar, the first and second halves being excellent while the latter less so.
7) I, Robot (2004)
Technology and robots are now part of modern life in 2035, to the dismay of Detective Del Spooner. He takes dislike to all robots he encounters. Spooner is summoned to investigate the death of Dr. Alfred Lanning who is believed to have created robots. Spooner, with his technophobic attitudes leads him to suspect Lanning’s murder was not suicide. Instead, it was murder. A robot somehow killed him despite all rules.
It’s simple. “I, Robot”The movie is both a Will Smith film and a sci-fi action movie. Will Smith delivers a highly charged performance. He shows off his muscular physique and delivers high-paced action sequences. Smith’s humor adds an extra layer of humor. Although it is a serious film, Smith gives an excellent performance.
6) Bad Boys (1995).
Marcus Burnett, a married man, is hen pecked. Mike Lowery, a single, is sexy, but both are Miami Police partners. Burnett and Lowrey only have 72 hours in which to catch criminals and retrieve large quantities of drug from the police safehouse. This is not an easy task when they get into a dispute and have to pretend that they are each other for witnesses to appear.
Even though Will Smith was already a star on the big screen, you can still say that “Bad Boy’s”It was his debut major film in which he was the star. Another movie where Smith delivers precisely what audiences want. We get action and comedy, with Smith making Minke Lowery a very smooth operator. It’s not just Martin Lawrence’s performance, but Will Smith’s that makes the movie work. This creates a unique cop-partnership for a new age.
5) I Am Legend (2007)
New York is now abandoned. A miracle cure for cancer has mutated and left those who received it to become flesh eating zombie-like beings. Robert Neville, the last person to remain in New York City is determined and driven to uncover the cure for this virus. Even if that means fighting to keep himself safe from the night-mare zombies roaming the streets of New York at night.
You must remember that “I am Legend”It is an entertaining movie that has divided audiences. While some were impressed by the horror tale, others found it to be a poor adaptation of Richard Matheson’s novel. You can’t decide if the movie is your favorite. Will Smith is the main character and delivers the terror of a lonely survivor in the midst of a bustling city.
4) Ali (2001).
This article covers the years 1964-1974 “Ali”The story of Muhammad Ali, boxer. It covers his transformation into a Black Muslim and his friendship with Malcolm X. This also includes his boxing career as well as his fight to return to the ring after refusing to serve in the US Military.
“Ali”This is yet another Will Smith film that divides viewers. It not only covers such a small section of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali’s life, but because Michael Mann uses such a stylic approach to movies it doesn’t often feel mainstream. It’s difficult to overlook Will Smith’s impressive portrayal of Muhammad Ali, regardless of whether you love it or not. First, his physical appearance is strikingly similar to Ali’s. But Smith also picks up every little detail, such as the speed, mannerisms and pronunciation of words. It’s a great performance, which is a shame because Smith is one of the best.
3) Six Degrees of Separation (1993).
Flan and Ouisa Kittredge, who are dealers in the Are Dealers (Donald Sutherland & Stockard Channing), were about to get out of town for a mean time when a young man appears at their New York apartment claiming he has been mugged. He introduces himself to them as the son of Sidney Poitier and a friend. In return for their kind gesture, he prepares a delicious meal. The Kittredges demand that he stay the night, but he refuses. They are shocked to learn that not all is what it seems.
Will Smith’s comedy was more popular than his acting in 1993. “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”His performance as a mature actor in a movie with roots on the stage is impressive. Smith was charming and articulate as the young, charming man. “Six Degrees of Separation”It works as a movie because of his thoughtful monologues and the powerful material he delivers.
2) Seven Pounds (2008)
Ben Thomas is haunted by a terrible secret and seeks to redeem himself through the acts of his charity work. When Ben sets his intentions to help, nothing will stop him. However, he didn’t consider the possibility of falling in love with one of his chosen people who transforms his life.
You have to mention that, even before I speak about Will Smith’s amazing performance as Ben Thomas. “Seven Pounds”This movie is emotional, moving and heartfelt. It’s brave and not like mainstream cinema. It is a great movie because of Will Smith’s outstanding performance. He plays a complex, mysterious character that makes you feel emotion and encourages you to love and support him.
1) The Pursuit of Happiness (2006)
The true story of Chris Gardner, who was left his wife in the 1980s and found himself not only penniless, but also single parent. In the hopes of providing a better future for his child, Gardner is forced to often live in poverty, sleep in tents, or queue for a place in a hostel. He manages to obtain an internship as a stockbroker.
Chris Gardner’s tale is something I identify with. It’s an emotionally charged and compelling story, enhanced by Will Smith’s outstanding performance. It’s easy to see the struggle of someone without any money. Smith really shows how he can get inside the head of the person and what it feels like to not know where their next meal will come from. The performance is inspiring and the storyline makes it all worthwhile. “The Pursuit of Happyness”This is my #1 Will Smith movie.
