Are you having trouble with your golf down swing?

The Down Swing Process

You down swing starts with the weight shifting from one foot towards the other. This movement is the key to your down swing. It is only a small motion, enough to lift your front foot off the ground. Your knees should be gently shifting to align with your target. While you are doing this, your hips will move in the opposite direction to your target. Your upper body is still stationary.

The club should travel down when your body starts to shift. This is a chain reaction that takes place from your feet up to your knees and your hips back to your club. Your left shoulder should now be slightly higher than the one on your right due to this change in your body. You can have your swing recorded by someone to help you see whether every muscle is working properly.

The next step is to rotate your hips towards your target. This will help you get more power in your swing. This is a problem for some golfers who are unable to move as fast as they want. This is something you should consider if it’s a problem.

Be aware of the following special considerations

· Always make sure that your swing does not start from the upper half of your body.

Stress Free Golf Swing

· Aim to hit the ball square, not hard! You can’t hit the ball as hard as you like, but if your face isn’t square upon impact your ball won’t travel as far and you may even slice it.

· Picture your swing in your mind first. You want the whole thing to be a smooth, influencing one another.

· Make sure that your arms remain passive. Only allow them to move in response to your actions.

· During practice, stop once in a while at the peak of your back swing, evaluate your alignment and complete your golf down swing in slow motion. Pay attention to how each part of your body works together.
