I’m told that math is a hate word by people. Because I’m the way I am, everyone has to be converted. While I’m not certain what my passion is, it motivates me to convert. “math haters,”However, I cannot resist the urge. I believe mathematics is beautiful, but there’s something more. As if God is speaking through the strange and mysterious language. Because of this, I approach each subject with humility, reverence and a sense that my magnificence can elevate me.
However, why not convert math fans? Instead, why not just preach to that small but dedicated group of math-lovers? The first is that the second group is very small in comparison with the former. And, second, there’s something noble about trying to make the other group more math-loving. “believer”Out of a “doubter.”Additionally, I believe that the success or failure of a society is determined by its children. A society’s future success is greatly affected by its children. Don’t be surprised if the children become ill-educated and malmotivated. Are you really expecting a better future? Hardly.
To this end, I promote the importance of mathematics and especially the foundations. Every day I see students struggling to understand the subject at hand, be it algebra, geometry or another higher-level branch like calculus. I have come to realize that the root cause is almost always a weak foundation. Furthermore, the struggle is made more difficult by the lack of confidence in the student. The student gives up, unable to find a solution. “I hate math” attitude.
It is important to remember that mathematics is based on basic arithmetic. This is encouraging news for these students. Unfortunately, a poor grasp of math can cause frustrations later in life. I believe this, “Soundly drill this discipline into the minds of our children and the chances of success in higher mathematics is dramatically increased.”It is a good idea to compare professional and amateur athletes. The basics are what experts athletes know. Tiger Woods, the greatest golfer in the world, spent many hours practising the fundamentals. Baseball’s ace pitchers worked hard to master the mechanics and pitches. These athletes worked tirelessly to improve their speed and accuracy. The importance of fundamentals is something that even great coaches recognize. This is why the athletes spend hours at training camp reviewing the drills and basic exercises. The same principle applies to math. If you master the basics, your chances of succeeding later in life are greatly increased.
Mathematical success is as easy as in other disciplines once you have the basics down. Okay. Although it may not be as easy, success is certain. Mathematics is such a powerful tool in helping society move forward-maths even unlocks mysteries of the universe-it is not necessary to dislike this fascinating subject. Instead, you can love it.
