1. Bayonne Carnival – Town Centre, Avenue du Maréchal-Leclerc, 17th -18th February 2013

As they parade down the streets, these adorable kids from kindergarten lead this carnival. There are many attractions and entertainments for everyone, including face painting, workshops and colourful parades.

2. Carnival on Two River Banks – Garonne River, Bordeaux, 4th March 2013

Each year Bordeaux Carnival has a new theme. But one thing remains the same: it’s a fantastic opportunity to have fun, a chance for families to come together, and an excuse to dress up. Children are welcome to participate in the parades. There is also a variety of workshops, aperitifs, and other activities.

International Festival of Religious Music Lourdes 15th to 31 March 2013

This takes place in the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, on Avenue Monsignuer-Théas. Groups are drawn from France, as well as other countries to perform sacred and religious music.

4. Agen Carnival – Town Centre, Re André Gide, 31st March to 1st April 2013

Spring is here, so dress up and join the celebrations on the streets. You can bring your children along to enjoy the festivities. It’s a fun family event. On Pancake Tuesday the Mr. Carnival (Monsieur Carnaval effigy) is paraded down streets, and then burned.

5. Gastronomic Feast: Sarlat, Dordogne 17-18 May 2012 (awaiting 2013).

7. Biarritz Oceans Festival Avenue Edouard VI, 16th-23rd June 2013

This festival allows you to swim in Biarritz if you are feeling energetic! There are tons of other activities at this festival. You can find street theatre and open air cinemas, as well as entertainment including Basque music.

8. Bordeaux Wine Festival – (dates yet to be confirmed). 28 June 2014 – 1 July 2014.

This festival is a must-see if you’re visiting Aquitaine with a passion for wine. Bordeaux Wine Festival has become a very popular event among wine-lovers from France as well as those from abroad. This huge celebration will be attended by 300,000.

9. Bay of Arcachon Oyster Festival: June, July, and August

This festival is for oyster enthusiasts or curious tourists looking for an aphrodisiac.

There are many beautiful and charming fishing villages in the bay. The oysters here are amazing. This area boasts more than 50 miles worth of unspoiled beaches, according to our last count.

From June to August, this famous export is celebrated. Enjoy this delicious and healthy seafood. Meet the oyster growers, and, if the tide allows, go to the oyster beds.

10. 7eme Festival de Jazz de Sanguinet 25th to 28th of July 2013

This famous festival is held in Sanguinet. It features spectacular concerts by musicians from around the world. The festival is usually held in July’s last week and includes different kinds of jazz music such as swing, blues and African jazz.

11. Bergerac Summer Festival – Dates in Await (normally from mid July through mid August).

It is an amazing music event that allows visitors to enjoy live music in beautiful castles, abbeys, and country houses. The festival features performances and concerts in many musical genres, such as jazz, rock, classical, and jazz. It is one of Europe’s largest music festivals.
