Okay, let’s face it. Perfect putting is not possible. The good news is you probably can putt better than what you are doing right now. These are just a few ideas that will help you get started.

How to play golf with proper technique

Your grip should be correct. Your hands should be relaxed, and you shouldn’t squeeze it as if you were trying to cut it in half. Your pinky should be located on the club. This means it shouldn’t overlap or become interlocked with other fingers. Keep your fingers closed so that the club does not slant. The ball should be addressed squarely, and the most important thing is to remain in your grasp.

Place the ball between your shoulders and in front of you. Your hands should be at the tip of your grip. Focus your gaze directly above the ball. The goal of hitting the ball on the target line is your aim. Consider imagining a large line that runs through the center of your body. Then, add another line perpendicular to this line or at a 90-degree angle. The target line is the one you want to reach. The target line should be approached with a gentle pendulum stroke.

You should ensure that the target line is parallel to your face. Lock in your right hand if you’re left handed. You can reverse this if your left hand is dominant. Your eyes should align with the target line when you are leaning over the ball.

You should keep your feet the same width and height as your hips. The weight of your left foot should balance slightly toward the inner side.
