US Masters Takeover by Controversy Factors

In the last few weeks, the US Masters has been engulfed in controversy. To start with the Masters officials have increased the length of Augusta National Golf Club. This makes it one of the most difficult courses in America. According to the organizers, the purpose of extending the par course to 7,290 yards from Augusta National Golf Club to 7,445 yards was to keep pace with technological advances in players’ equipment.

Players are now questioning whether recent changes to the course have been made too rapidly. Some may wonder if the Augusta course length change was too favorable for long-hitters. This reduces the number of possible winners to around 10

To add to the controversy, the weather delays that have been experienced in seven of eight previous years have alleviated the woes of players. For Augusta’s undulating greens, Monday’s practice round was a warm and sunny day with a very slight chance of rain.
