Golfers love the beautiful island of Cyprus. Golf is a sport that can be enjoyed year-round in the perfect Mediterranean climate of Cyprus. There are three 18-hole courses of international standard on the island. These golf courses are set in serene surroundings, far away from tourist hubs. They are all located in Paphos on landscaped hills, which are accessible from many areas.

Aphrodite Hills Golf Club

Aphrodite Hills includes the Aphrodite Hills Golf Course (18-hole Championship Standard), a five-star luxury hotel and luxurious villas and apartments. A village square is home to shops, restaurants, and tennis lessons. It is situated near the birthplace and legend of the Greek mythological love goddess, Aphrodite Hills Golf Course. The course was constructed on two plateaux separated by a ravine. Cabell Robinson, an internationally acclaimed architect of golf, designed this course. The course features stunning views across the Mediterranean, pot bunkers that can be challenging, lush Bermuda grass fairways, and tiered greens. The signature hole on the course is 7th, which runs steeply across a canyon and onto an enormous green nestled within an olive grove. A double-ended 350m practice range, four target fairways with bunkers, practice areas for short games, and three residential professionals are available at the course. There are also three academy holes. There is a clubhouse with a bar, a restaurant and terraces that overlook the green.

Elea Golf Course

Nick Faldo designed the Elea Golf Course. It is part of Elea Estate, where there are a boutique hotel and luxury villas and apartments, spa facilities, and great dining choices. With stunning views of Paphos Town as well as the Mediterranean Sea, this course is in a great location. The course winds its way through rolling terrain where limestone outcrops add texture and contrast. Golfers at all skill levels will enjoy exploring all 18 holes. The course winds through olive groves and some holes can be surrounded by wild herbs, Mediterranean grasses, or native flora. The Elea Golf Academy is located next to the course. It features a full-length driving range, bunkers, target greens and a putting area. You can enjoy stunning views from the green and the rest of the course.

Secret Valley Golf Course

Secret Valley Golf Course lies 12 miles north of Paphos in a valley near ‘Petra tou Romiou. This is the birthplace the mythical goddess and lover, Aphrodite. It offers spectacular views over the surrounding hills. The course is also surrounded by majestic rock formations. The 18-hole course offers tuition from a PGA certified resident golf instructor. There are also putting greens and chipping areas. Fairway bunkers can be found on the driving range. A recently renovated clubhouse features locker rooms, a shop selling equipment, bars, and a restaurant that overlooks the artificial lake and course.

Minthis Hills Golf Course

Minthis Golf Course opened its doors in 1994. It is situated in the grounds and surrounds by vineyards, orchards, and is located on the grounds of an ancient monastery from 12th-century. The course is located in a valley just outside of Paphos. It sits at 550m above the sea level. This allows for cooling ocean breezes in the summer. British golf course architects Mackenzie, Ebert recently renovated the greens. This included rebuilding and expanding tees as well as reshaping bunkers. New bunkers were also added. Construction is underway on the new clubhouse. It is traditional Cypriot in style, with lots glass and wood being its dominant elements.
