It seems that far too many people live a life of misery. People who are simply giving up on their lives seem to be the people I most often meet. It’s not that they don’t wish to stop living. It is just that they find it so burdensome. I hear them tell me their sad stories about pain, disillusionment, stories filled with sadness, depression, and rejection. This reminds me of George Bernard Shaw’s once famous quote.
“Some people should have inscribed on their tombstone: Died at 30. Buried at 82.”
Sam Butler is right when he states that the main purpose of life is for us to have fun with it.
We only live once, so it is important to have a fun and joyful life. Below are a few of my suggestions to bring happiness, joy and peace to your life. They can do the same for you as they did for me. Commitment to your application is the key to success.
Strategies to Not Only Survive, But Thrive
* Commit yourself to putting the fun back into your life. It doesn’t matter what you enjoy doing, just do it.
* Laugh more. Become a comedian. Enjoy funny sitcoms and funny movies. This is what a fridge door does. Enjoy a laugh with people who are jovial. Make sure to visit the Humour Section of your library. LIVE BETTER. LAUGH MUCH MORE
* Develop a strong sense of E.S.P. The Enjoyment of Simple Pleasures. Life can be full of small pleasures, if only we could slow down and take the time to look. The last night was a beautiful autumn evening. I was standing at my front window looking out over the greens and watching the moon rise into the eastern sky. In silence, I took in the amazing beauty of moonlight night. My heart was full of peace, quietness and an overwhelming joy. This is a perfect example of E.S.P.
* Go for a brisk walk in nature. It will make you feel great and help restore your sense of wonder. Nature walks are the fastest way to revive my tired spirits.
* Reach out and help someone. It is my belief that helping another person makes us more alive. Your true happiness is when you invest your energy into caring for other people and the creation.
DO THIS, AND YOU WILL REALLY BE ABLE TO START LIVING.
It is important to enjoy life, not live it.
