Dufan is an amusement park in Ancol. It’s located in North Jakarta, Indonesia. This park is very similar to Universal Studio and Disneyland. There are many rides and attractions that can be enjoyed if you’re only in Jakarta for a day. Dufan can be abbreviated as “Dunia Fantasi”English “Fantasy World”

Dufan’s name is an amazing coincidence because it is pronounced “Dufan” “Do Fun”. Dufan can be described as a place where you visit. “do fun”.

Dufan can be found in the Ancol large entertainment and recreational complex, which is located near the coast of North Jakarta. This complex is also known as “Taman Impian Jaya Ancol”English “Jaya Ancol Dream Park”. Apart from Dufan, there are several hotels in the resort complex.

Back to Dufan. Dufan’s fun park has many attractions and rides for both children and adults. Safe rides for kids include the large carousel. Teens and adults will enjoy more exciting rides such as the rollercoaster. Dufan has many rides to offer:

  • Bianglala is a giant ferris wheel that allows you to sit on the ends of large spokes. From there, the view from the top of the mountain range offers a beautiful view over the ocean and land to your south.
  • Kora Kora: This ride is made up of a huge ship which swings from one end to the other. Some riders even reach perpendicular positions to the ground. The term is also known as “The Pirate Ship”. When you lift your head high, the swing’s direction changes, you will experience weightlessness.
  • Stress Free Golf Swing
  • Hysteria is a ride where you are taken up very high in a column and then dropped down as fast.
  • Istana Boneka is the Doll Palace. There are many large animatronic dolls of large size. It’s the equivalent to “It’s a Small World”Disneyland. It is ideal for children.
  • As it’s more commonly known, Tornado: The Top Spin induces high gravity accelerations. Here you will experience the adrenaline rush of your life.
  • There are many attractions and rides that you can enjoy.

Dufan charges an entrance fee of Rp 180,000, which is approximately US$ 21 on week-ends and Rp 150,000 on weekdays. An annual pass is available for those who love to have fun, and can afford it if they plan on going there often.

You can take a taxi to Ancol from Jakarta for around US$ 45 and then spend a whole day in Dufan. You don’t need to worry about how you get back to the hotel if you leave Dufan. There are plenty of taxis available at Dufan exit. You should be able to pay for Ancol and Dufan entry fees, taxi fares and meals with this amount.
