Everyone who plays golf wants to learn the simple golf swing technique. The good thing is that there are several simple things that you can start doing to help improve your swing. By understanding what you should be focusing on and doing, you’ll find it a lot easier to get better at the game of golf. When you know a few basics that you can practice on a daily basis, it’s a great way to have an enjoyable and challenging experience playing this sport.
You’re going to need to be in good position before you swing the club. When you look up, your back will be looking down at where you’re pointing to. To get the best out of your backswing, you should have your shoulders and hips moving backwards slightly with your knees bent and feet apart. Keep your right arm just above your left shoulder, and make sure that your left arm is actually out in front of your right when you’re addressing the ball. This will give you more power as you come into the ball.
It will also be easier for you to get your backswing down right if you keep your chin up during the process. Many golfers tend to try to pull their chin up during the backswing, which makes it harder for them to keep their back straight. Your job in the backswing is to start your momentum with your arms and then let it carry you through your whole body. If you pull your chin up, you’ll have a cluttered look and feel. As you come through the ball, it’ll be easier for you to swing smoothly and get a nice easy golf swing.
The next step that you should take when you swing is to turn your left wrist out away from your body. It’ll feel like you have an unpositioned hand when your left wrist is turned out. In order to get an easy golf swing, you should have your right clubface facing toward your target. Your left wrist and right clubface should be pointing straight ahead. Keep your arms and hands setting throughout the entire swing. Don’t try and wiggle your wrist or waggle your hand as you come through the ball.
Finally, another common mistake that many people make is that they do not allow enough weight to shift from the rear foot to the front foot in their swing. The idea here is to keep the weight as close to the inside of your body (your hip) as possible. This will reduce the stress that is put on your lower back. Most golfers do not allow enough weight shift to occur in their downswing. This is why they have such a hard time getting their ball down.
So now you know exactly what is required to get an easy golf swing. What you need next is to find a good golf weight shift training aid that will help you get your downswing down more smoothly. There are many of these available, but I recommend using one that uses golf-themed sounds and images. Get them on video and see what they can do for you!
