You must get me out of here! – The Dreaded Bunker

If it is called “the beaches in Hawaii” or Florida, then the beach is considered a popular spot. It is possible to stay away from the “beaches”But, you can still play on the golf course. To hit the bunker with confidence and ease, it is not an enjoyable place. You can learn a few techniques and practice drills to improve your ability to hit the bunker successfully.

You can avoid adding additional strokes to the scorecard if your ball is located in the bunker. Because of the tough resistance of bunker soil, your wrists will naturally bend as you first contact the sand. Your swing should be completed. Golfers often stop halfway by hitting the sand. You should be relaxed and loose as you hit the bunker. Being nervous or tense can only make things more difficult.

These guidelines will guide you in practicing a good swing to help master the art of hitting from the bunker.

1. You should always have a firm foundation. You can line up your shot by putting your feet in the sand. You could end up with an incorrect shot if your feet are not stable.

2. While aligning your body, place the ball slightly to the inside of your front foot. Open your left leg a bit more, depending on the situation. If done correctly, your chest should be exposed more to the target.

3. You can use high-degree clubs such as the pitching wedge, loft wedge, sand wedge to control your swing.

4. When hitting from the bunker, avoid direct contact. Instead draw a line through the sand about 1-2 inches in front of the ball. It should impact the sand enough to lift the ball off the ground. The shot is not one-shot, so you should apply the same force to this shot as you would for regular shots. As if the ball is being lifted from the bunker into the play area.

5. Remember to follow the instructions. Golfers who are just starting out stop when they touch the sand. This causes the ball’s sail to lift off.

You should hit the ball closer than 2-3 inches from wet sand, and swing as normal.

You will want to strike the ball straight when hitting the bunker. When hitting out on the sand, you don’t have to oversize your clubs. You can use your 6 iron from 150 yards while in the fairway. The 6 iron can also be used to hit the fairway bunker 160 yards further. Remember to “pick it clean”Avoid as much contact as you can with the sand.
