Everybody wants to improve their golf swing. What distance can you reach? Are you able to hit the par fives in just two shots. Are the par fives of 200 yards too long for you?
Both long and straight are equally good. If given the choice, I prefer long over straight. But I do like long a lot, a real lot.
It is likely that you also do. Some of you don’t know how to access your power resources. Oops!
Did I say sources? I mean more than one. It was clickety. It was for good reasons. You have many sources of power. To get the most out of your abilities, you must be familiar with them all.
It’s no secret that I love angles. You also know that without angles, you don’t have power or distance.
To create power and keep your trajectory straight, you must maintain perfect angles during your golf swing. Power and accuracy are achieved by squaring your clubface at impact using a lot of clubhead speed. There is nothing else that will do it.
There will always be manipulating the hands, and thus the clubface without great angles. It is easy to become frustrated by the need to constantly be correct instead of committed.
Okay, here’s another round of angles. This angle is located between your right wrist’s back and your forearm.
How do you achieve it? You must have excellent grip. You know the importance of a grip if you’re reading this. It may be difficult for you to do, but it’s something that you know. If you don’t have the right grip, you should move on to another article. You might not be interested in this one.
With your right thumb on the pad, push your left thumb down slightly. This will allow you to bend your right wrist if you have a firm grip. This should not be cocked towards your face, but bent in the direction of your forearm.
What is the difference? Do you know what the difference is? Place your right palm in front and your left hand behind you.
The thumb of your thumb should face you.
Bend your wrist toward your forearm. It should look like this. It is the best angle for this part of instruction.
Now, re-grip your club. The right hand should be bent towards the forearm. The fat of your right thumb should be pressed down onto the thumb of your left hand.
The result should be that the left side of your hand tilts slightly towards the ground, and your right hand curves toward your forearm. Many people won’t reach 90 degrees. That’s okay. But it’s crucial that your right wrist is correctly bent. Don’t cocked toward yourself, but bend back towards your forearm.
This is the last time you’ve moved any muscle anywhere in your whole body.
The club shaft should lie parallel to ground, and parallel to target line.
It should be closed at all times. The clubface should not be visible from the ground. You find that strange?
There has been no other movement. It is very important. Nothing. You are just being a drill. This is a drill.
Let’s have a little fun. This position can be converted into a backswing if you wish to. You will actually hit a good ball. You should try it. You will need to give it more than one go.
You can simply bend the wrist and move it into your backswing.
Let’s now talk about how the wrists are positioned in the backswing.
Pay close attention to the wrist on the left side. “cup”The backswing. Cupped refers to the left hand being in its backswing. “under”You are the one at the top of the backswing club. The club’s face will open when this occurs. “Houston we have a problem.”This will make it easier to grip the ball and allow you to move to the desired position. Bad Bad Bad
One cannot have both. It is impossible to have both a high right angle wrist and a slender left wrist. It’s easy to see why.
You will need to make a move at impact if you are unable to cup your left wrist. This is a bad move. So don’t!
An additional description of the angle can be found here “lag”This word may be familiar to you. It basically does the same thing. However, lag can occur dynamically. You can’t do it statically. Although it is more challenging, this move can be done with the same precision as creating amazing angles and keeping them intact through impact. This is the easier method.
You have many other sources of power, which I’ll discuss in another article. A free ebook explaining the first step in greater detail is available. You can click the link.
