Lee Trevino is the best way to hit your golf ball straight.

The majority of recreational golfers spend their lives trying to learn how to hit the ball straight. This is it. Keep the ball in play and keep it moving towards the green. It has never been a good idea to tweak or learn more. It’s possible to find a swing to help you hit the right ball. Keep reading.

A self-taught golfer, Lee Trevino, won the 1968 U.S. Open on his third attempt. Lee Trevino’s swing was unlike any other and experts said that such a swing would not withstand the tournament pressure. Trevino was able to achieve this feat because it was engineered to. He won 29 PGA Tournaments and six major championships.

Many professional golfers struggled with a hook at the beginning of their careers and developed a swing to stop them. Trevino was able to achieve this better than Ben Hogan and created a swing that accomplished two things. It delayed the release of clubhead, so the clubhead couldn’t flip and direct the ball to the left. The second was that it kept the clubhead in the direction of the target for slightly more time than the standard swing. This increased the possibility of error.

This is how it works. Trevino’s book provides a more detailed description. Golf swing my way!

Your stance should be open. Your stance should be open. The target line should run from 3 o’clock to 9:00 o’clock. Your stance line should run from 2 o’clock to 8 hours. When gripping the club, rotate your hands so that you can see the three knuckles at the back of the left side. Line up the clubface with the target.

The target line is where you should be taking the club, and not the stance. You may feel as though you are swinging the club inside. But that is okay. To get back at the ball, slide your knees in front of the target. Slide, not turn. These three actions will pay off when you get into the ball.

1. Your left hand should remain facing the target.

2. The right shoulder is lowered below the chin.

3. Continue to follow the club along the line of the target until the ball has been hit.

After you learn the basics, it will be easy to hit one after another with a shot that’s so perfect you won’t believe you could do it any other. If you find that the ball is always going right initially, move to the left and adjust the position, clubface and everything.

Now is the time to do it. It’s now. You could answer me, “What do I have to lose?” But the true question is: How much would you love to gain?
