Everybody has their own golf swing. Because everyone is different, each person has their own body, strength and history, as well as a unique golf swing. While you may be able to go to the salon and get your hair done like the movie stars, you cannot go to the range and ask the pros for a golf swing that is like the one you see on the screen. You can find your swing and play great golf.
Grab a towel for your hands. You can wrap it around a towel and then hold it with your hands. As if you are about to hit a golf club, stand tall. Relax and forget about worrying about golf balls. Recover your arms and “swing through,”As you move to the end of your golf swing, let go of the towel. This is like tossing the towel to someone a few feet from you. Toss the towel with a golf club swing.
You can turn your head to see where the towel is going before you let go. Tossing the towel will help you discover how your body feels when it makes the turning, directing motion of the golf swing. Once you’ve been practicing for a while, your body should feel comfortable and natural. This will have absolutely nothing to do with the game of golf.
Take out your 8-iron, and you can start again. Now, calm your mind. Swing the 8-iron as you would a towel. You shouldn’t throw your 8-iron if you are (a) outdoors, (b) can’t hit any object that should be struck, or (c) enjoy walking after it.
Important! It is important to swing it in the exact same manner you did the towel. You don’t have to think you are able to GOLF SWING because you now hold a club. This is what the exercise is trying get at.
Swing the club and don’t worry about the ball. It’s just for the enjoyment of it. It’s a pleasant feeling. You can’t think of any other reasons than it being used to hit a golf club. Simply swing the golf club.
Next, you will need to swing the golf club with your practice swing. You will find it much easier to hit a golf ball with this swing than to practice your swing. Because in the past when you switched your focus from your practice swing and your actual swing, it was easy to start to consider technical things that did not fit or would never fit with how you move.
You didn’t trust what you learned. You didn’t have any trust in what you learned because you thought it was something else. TheyYou had to do. Nothing to do with it YouNothing. Absolutely nothing.
This new towel-throwing technique is so natural that you don’t have to worry about whether there are any balls. This is key to good golf: trusting your abilities and having faith in them.
