Retired aerospace engineer, I enjoy trying out different aspects of the swing and putter design. A retired engineer discovered a way for the average golfer to improve his accuracy and distance with each club in his arsenal. No club modification is required.
My short game was causing me problems. “handsy”It almost seems like you are already wearing the “yips”Short wedge shots.
It was difficult for me to strike my ball. It was a battle for my life. “over the top”Move that produced hooks or pull hooks.
It was obvious that my problem was caused my my hyperactive right hand. So I started to experiment with different ways for my hands to work together. Increased overlap in grip allowed me to reduce the tendency of my right hand dominating. It was much easier to pick up the club on the backswing and it became less painful.
The first test was conducted with my sandwedge. After I had found the ideal gripping combination, I tried longer clubs. It was particularly surprising to see the driver release my hands completely. It was almost like I was swinging a piece of string.
My new grip allowed me to release my hands more easily and with less tension. The ball is no longer being hit, but rather the head of the club is being placed into the ball. It felt easy to sling the ball.
This increases club head speed, which gives you more range. The unified hands reduce the tendency of the right hand taking over, causing pulled shots or pulling hooked shots.
Tests with a Golf Swing Analyzer and in actual golf play have shown significant improvement in accuracy and distance.
The grip technique increases driver reach by 20 yards and gives you 1/2 to 1 more club. A more consistent shot pattern can also be achieved. This grip technique produces a flatter angle of impact, which reduces backspin and allows for more hot shots. This technique is particularly helpful for the driver.
Most golfers fail to hit the hole with their iron shots. A little more backspin with the irons can help your ball stop quickly and release.
Trilap tm grip is a new unified hand grip that holds a golf ball in one hand. It uses a triple overlap technique.
My new grip system for golf was shared with me “discovery”The Trilap grip was also popular with family and friends.
Here are the steps to achieve Trilap grip. Comparisons are made between the most common golf grip methods: The Reverse Overlap and Interlocking, as well as the Unlap or Baseball Grip. Comparisons of golf swing setups are made and Swing Analyzer Data presented.
