How to maintain focus and concentration in golf – What are you doing? "Lose"What is the best way to focus on a golf round?

Are you losing your concentration during your round of golf?

As you know, in order to solve a problem we must first understand the root cause. You may be thinking that losing your concentration is a problem. I’m saying you don’t lose concentration. Until you realize this, you won’t be able to fix your golf game. My belief is that it’s impossible to lose concentration during the regular course of life. But, you can switch your concentration from one location to another.

Realizing that your focus is not on the golf course, makes it easy to believe that you are losing your ability to concentrate. It is almost like saying that your concentration has been lost for some time. I was amazed by how many golfers told me that their concentration lost for just a few holes before regaining it. Wow! Wow! It could have been lost in the hedge. They went back and found it. It was it possible that they lost the item in the hedge and misplaced their bag on the golf course?

The part of their brain responsible for concentration and focus is still intact. They’re not losing any information. The problem is that they are not following a Professional Swing Sequence. This is commonly known as a Preshot Routine. It is the exact mechanism that, when used correctly, can ensure you remain focused for every shot, no matter how small or large.

When we refer to being fully focused, we mean that your attention is on the things that can help you do better and not diverting it onto other things that could be detrimental to your performance. These are the moments when shots can be lost and golfers feel they’ve lost their focus. You have allowed your attention to drift to the wrong areas. Realizing this is the first step to solving the problem. Next, learn and implement the Professional Swing Sequence.

Do you lose your focus during similar rounds? It could be that you are getting dehydrated.

One caveat: if your brain becomes dehydrated it can’t function normally and will cause you to lose focus. Your body will tell you when you’re thirsty. You will notice a headache if you have been dehydrated. It may take a while to restore your brain and hydration. It is important to not take a chance with your health and ensure you are drinking enough water on a daily basis. A hot 18-hole round of golf will see you need many litres water. You shouldn’t be drinking excessive sugary liquids or worse, alcohol. The only people who drink alcohol around the golf course are those golfers who don’t want to play their best. Did you go out to celebrate the previous night? Still hung over? Golf will be affected so enjoy the event!

Summary.

You can make your brain malfunction if you become dehydrated from alcohol, drug or other misuse. Keep in mind that the brain is your largest water user and it can suffer from dehydration of as little 10%. Get more water, and less alcohol. Water is important for golfers. “in play”You will definitely pay for it if you get dehydrated.

You’re not losing your focus and concentration due to chemicals or dehydration. It is allowing the problem to get away from you and realising that this is part of solving it. You can create a sequence of procedures that you use for each shot. This will keep your attention on the task at hand and help to focus. Create a Professional Swing Sequence and you will see your game (and concentration) become more alive.
