My hometown had a long history of golf schools. The town was small with only 4000 residents. There were larger communities around it. The driving range was located on one of the main roads leading to my community. Many people would pass me and watch as a team of basketball players threw the ball back and forth. My number one question when I went to the supermarket was “Kris”, asking how a basketball can make you better at golf. That is the question this article will answer.
We all know that it’s a hard game we love. You can also struggle to learn. It is not because you are not skilled, but because it takes time. To be able to move a new way on the driving range, it can be difficult to reach. To show how players can make improvements at home, I take the ball to the range. If you are able to hit balls for hours, it helps. You would be surprised at the difference if you could put in just a few repetitions per day to improve your game.
You can now use any ball, pillow or pot you like to improve your swing. A basketball is a good choice because it’s large and can be inflated to 7-9 pounds. You can use it to strengthen your core golf muscles and improve your swing. The ball is a bit heavier than the rest, so it can help you develop endurance in your golf muscles.
It is amazing to see the benefits of this practice. This is going to be the focus of our shoulder turning. Many players don’t use their shoulder rotation to its full potential, which can lead to them losing power and consistency.
Although the drill may be simple, the best drills can often prove to be the most efficient.
The Basketball Back Swing Drill
1.Place your hand on the basketball and take your position in golf.
2.Your back swing should be your first.
3.Hold your backswing until your left arm touches the ground.
4.Look at the basketball. You should have your basketball in the best position possible.
5.Keep repeating this process as often as possible.
Your hands will always stay on your chest if you’ve made a correct turn. You will see still photographs of some the greatest players around the globe. It is crucial to have a strong backswing. This position will allow you to keep your arms straight and create more power. You’ll also be able to make better shots by keeping your club in the right line.
You can follow these steps and find your ball not at your chest when you reach step 4. It will be much more difficult to make great shots. This is an indication that your shoulder rotation was insufficient during the backswing. Your swing will be very weak and flat.
Use this drill daily, it will positively impact your game. If you would like to see this swing tip in picture format please visit www.free-golf-lessons.com/free-golf-tip.html.
