Insert Quarter, Improve Billiards Stroke

Many players have problems with their aversion to sand. “Chicken Wing”A stroke is a movement that affects their ability of shooting by pushing their hand away from their body.

This is because the cue ball is not aligned with the target line. To sink the ball they practice to get the shoulder and elbow in the correct alignment.

Recently, I read an article on Vijay Singh’s Record Breaking Golf Season. It credited him with his Routine Practrice Routine that includes the placing of a golf glove inside his armpit. He does this to maintain proper arm/body contact throughout his swing.

There are many similarities between golf, billiards, so Vijay’s routine inspired me to think about how to play billiards properly.

For alignment to occur, you need the arm of the upper arm to touch the top of the upper chest. This places the wrist, elbow, and shoulder on a plane that aligns with the target line and back leg. Let me tell you about a way to use the old billiards gloves I got months back.

This doesn’t happen. The glove won’t fall in the above instance because of ineffective billiards strokes, even those with chicken wings, which don’t provide enough clearance to allow for it to slide out of its spot.

What about a chalk cube instead? Similar thing except it’s a lot more frustrating.

Golf Swing Speed Challenge

A quarter? This works well and, if you move your upper arm slightly out of line, it will be tracking the quarter across a floor.

However, I was curious. However, no one ever told me that the skin from the upper arm should touch my upper chest for a successful stroke. I was able to test this theory on a bench.

Doug Carter’s Stroke Trainer, when properly used, can train muscle memory in stroke arm, hand, and wrist simultaneously.

Just to feel the sensation, I installed the Stroke Trainer. When I properly set up the Stroke trainer, it is obvious that there is tightening between my upper arm and chest.

You will be amazed by your accuracy when taking long shots.

It can feel awkward. You might feel awkward, but you’ll get better results if this tiny gem is used while you practice and repeated it often.
