The place was a dream come true for them and they bought it to make it a unique and exclusive club, the Mt Kenya Safari Club. Sir Winston Churchill, Lord Louis Mountbatten Robert Ruark U.S President Lyndon Johnson and Bob Hope were founding members. The club’s guestbook has also been signed by many celebrities around the globe over the past 40 years. Now it is a “leading hotel of the world”
It is still strong to feel the past in both the main building as well as the original William Holden Cottages. The eclectic mix of colonial Kenyan culture and Hollywood glamour is evident in the space.
