There are many options for beach-lovers along the coast north from Kato Pafos. There are three beaches to choose from: Toxeftra and Agios Georgios. North of Kato Pafos, the Akamas peninsula is one of Cyprus’ last wilderness areas. For the best experience in this remote area, you’ll need to hire an 4×4 vehicle. But, your normal car will get you there that bus tours can’t. You can use your 4×4 for the Avakas Gorge. This is the route through banana plantations that leads into the canyon. It features rare orchids and streamside pine trees.

You don’t have to be so energetic to drive your car rental in Cyprus up the hills and find signs for vineyards. There are free wine tastings. You can sample cool, refreshing white wines or reds. Take a few bottles home!
