Ping Golf Clubs – The Power of 10

In the Fall of 2007, Ping Golf released one of their most innovative ideas in the company’s history: The Ping G-10 design. Ping Golf Clubs are changing with The Power of 10, which is changing their nature and capabilities, for amateur as well as professional golfers. G-10 is a series of design products that the company created to aid golfers in improving their game, minimizing mistakes and lowering their scores. You can find the G-10 design on Ping irons fairway woods, drivers and hybrids. Ping is well-known for their innovative fittings and custom fit. The new G-10 series is a leap forward in technology compared to the previous Ping clubs.

Many new features are included in the Ping G-10 driver. The drivers feature a larger profile and deeper faces. They also have an optimized center gravity (CG) position. The design actually places it further back. The face height was increased by the Ping engineers to maximize ball velocity. The Ping engineers then set up the clubhead so that the sole and crown align with the CT limit.

Professional fitters can use the profile and shaft to correctly fit players with the right club. This increased Moment-of Inertia, which in turn resulted a club with a greater ball velocity. Although the improvements were modest, they are significant according to the company. The company claims that golfers will experience a greater range of speed, distance, and consistency when they drive. Cast body with 6-4 titanium is used to make the 460cc G10 driver. The Draw model is identical, however it is designed for right-to left ball flight. This is great for golfers who are prone to slice or fade the ball because of poor swing mechanics. Draw has an inner weight panel located closer to the front, which allows for better head rotation.

Ping G-10 Fairway Woods is also very innovative. The sole is intersected by a crown. This instantly creates a lower profile head. This combination with the feature shallow face makes all lies more appealing. This unique intersection allows skirt-less designs. Ping engineers used this design to move the center of gravity lower. The lower center of gravity (CG), allows for higher ball velocity, and lower spin. A wood’s shallow face allows golfers to hit more effectively. This wood provides a lot of forgiveness and stability in your shots. Golfers can get underneath the ball more easily and have better power transfer.

Golf Swing Speed Challenge

Ping is very fond of hybrids in the G-10 series. This club is made of stainless steel and has sloping crowns. It was designed to increase launch rates. This gives long and mid irons a solid feel. Six lofts offer options for replacement, from one iron to six irons and fairway woods. The center of gravity is low because the crown weight and the face weight are combined to create a weight pad. This results in increased launch angles, and lower spins. Ping engineers designed the hybrid to have a variable thickness face. This allows for greater ball velocity, consistency and better control.

Ping G-10 Irons are perfect for those who require forgiveness while on the golf course. These irons provide excellent consistency and low toe weighting. This allows MOI to provide additional consistency. New cavity shapes and a larger sole have been added to the head. These new designs place the center gravity away from your face, and high in the head. This design allows for more launching, and less spin. Ping engineers designed a completely new form for the Custom Tuning Port (CTP) in the G-10 irons. To stabilize the hit area, they did this. This allows for consistent ball velocity. The engineers also added an Elastomer CTP, which provides a firmer feel and a better overall sound.

Ping Golf Clubs has received incredible feedback from its worldwide tour personnel. Chris DiMarco switched from the old driver to G-10 and Angel Cabrera, US Open Champion, almost immediately. Cabrera was actually the driving distance leader at the Barclay’s Scottish Open using the Ping G-10 driver. Ping’s G-10 series allows for forgiveness, so it is suitable for all levels of players. Ping’s innovative forgiveness will allow amateur players and beginners to see their lowest scores.
