It is what?
BJJ Manifesto, a BJJ ebook course created by Rob Kahn & Matt Arroyo.
What are their names?
Rob Kahn, who received his black belt at Royce Gracie is also the head instructor for Gracie Tampa Matt Arroyo. He was one of the fighters that fought in the Ultimate Fighter Season 6. Rob Kahn gave Arroyo his black belt in six years.
Is this the right course?
This course focuses more on techniques and strategies than it does on the actual art of BJJ or MMA.
The following is an overview of what the ebook contains:
Chapter 1.
• • Strategy on how to cause or wait for opponent to make mistake -and how to capitalize on it
• • 3 ways to create the mistake – eg forcing the mistake by using pressure (eg shoulder pressure when on side control top position)
• • Interesting topic on how to set a pattern and then break it “broken rhythm”
Chap 2
• • Training structure
• • Discusses how to train, repetition of moves, assess your strengths and weakness
Chapter 3
• • Position specific strategies
• • Shows strategies from guard, mount, half guard, side mount (control), back mount
• • Strategies for attack and defence are covered
To illustrate key concepts, short embedded videos are included. There are two bonuses in this course: Goofy Guard and Guillotines Revealed video tutorials, as well as Advanced Back Attacks. You’ll also receive a month of training at Gracie Tampa North.
In my opinion, I have learned much from this. This book is very different than the traditional BJJ instructionals which focus on technique. This book opened my eyes and made me think differently. BJJ Manifesto is a great tool that has helped improve my game. But, this program is not recommended for novices. It would suit grapplers with at most 6 months’ experience up to purple-belt level.
