How to Make Your Own Golf Driving Mat

Although golf driving mats may be helpful in improving your skills, they are not affordable for everyone. The knowledge to build your own golf driving pad is a great asset.

You don’t have to be a pro at making your own mat. These step-by-step directions will help you make your driving mat quickly.

You can personalize your golf mat to suit your needs. You can choose to add or remove padding depending on your preference.

You can personalize your driving mat according to your tastes if you’re an artist.

1) First, gather all necessary materials for making the driving mat. You will need plywood, laminate, faux turf, a knife, bonding spray/glue, and padding for your carpet.

2. Next, cut the plywood using a handsaw and create a rectangular 3 by 5 foot shape. Although this is the best size and shape, it may vary depending on how comfortable you are.

The size of a driving mat is appropriate if you can stand upright on the plywood, and are comfortable hitting the ball.

Then, cut the carpet padding. These should be exactly the same dimensions as the plywood.

To ensure that padding and turf completely cover plywood, this is necessary.

Apply the glue/spray to stick the carpet padding on top of the plywood. A second layer of carpet padding can be added if the mat is too soft.

5. After you have installed the carpet padding, spray glue on top.

6- Lay the cut piece of artificial turf over the padding. Avoid creases by being careful.

7- Allow the mat to rest for several days, before you start using it to put your golfing skills into practice!

Use a glue or bonding spray in an area that is well ventilated.

You can make your own golf driving mats in no time. They are durable, easy to clean and fun to use.
