The Icky Stuff is what successful people do

Those darn successful people. You always feel like you’re more fortunate, wealthy, wiser, and better looking than the rest. It is just unfair. It’s just not fair. Why is it that I can drive a luxury vehicle, have long weekends in a beautiful vacation home and my kids admire and respect me just like these successful people?

One can often attribute the success of another person to their intelligence, luck, and marriage. These factors can sometimes help someone to achieve greater success, but there is often more. The nice clothes and exclusive neighborhoods, as well as the membership to a country club, are all things we envy.

We fail to appreciate the sacrifices and hours that Mr. It was a great achievement. He was the man who competed in kickboxing and sold karate uniforms from the back of his truck. His success has been recognized worldwide twenty-five year later. While it is impressive, he still struggled to fill his van with gasoline to make it to tournaments. While he trained hard to be a competitor, he also managed the finances of his new company. Although we would be proud to call him a success, it is because he was willing to do the hard work. He answered the phones. He made the phone calls to vendors and negotiated the contracts. He hired people when he didn’t know if he had the money. He worked hard to make the payroll, and sometimes he didn’t.

He persevered. He stuck with it. He went above and beyond what his competitors did. When he was knocked to the ground, he stood up. Even though his vision of the future was cloudy at times, he kept it all in view. He was the first to get out of bed. He worked late. He also worked weekends. He was part-time without any money. However, he persevered. This is what winners do. Black Belts are the same.

That’s an Olympic hopeful swimmer, who wakes up at four o’clock in the morning when it is only 18 degrees outside to get some practice in before heading off to school. This is the swimmer that refuses to attend the football game with friends.

The sales associate that has been awarded the top sales award five consecutive quarters is the winner. It’s not because he is smarter or luckier. This is because he calls twice as many people every day than the rest of his team. His rejection rate is higher than any other employee in the company. He also sells more than any other person. Like Babe Ruth, he led the league’s home run count and also led in strikeouts.

Because he took the time and wrote down the sales goals along with the steps necessary to get there. In an effort to be a good father, he has spent his weekends at motivation and sales seminars.

If you can’t get out from your warm bed, it doesn’t make much sense. You don’t want to be at work after hours when you would rather spend your time watching Monday Night Football. Not being able to thank sales reps for their efforts, even if they close the sale at a mere 8% rate, is a hassle. When your friend is showing off his bass boat and taking trips to the lake each weekend, it’s difficult to save that much money for retirement. When your pals are ordering chicken salad, it’s hard to order the grilled chicken when you have the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes with gravy.

It’s not the sum of all those bad things that will make you successful. You will see the pay rises and promotions as well as the improvements in your personal health. These are the results of years of hard work. The new star is on the charts. Wow! You don’t realize how many years she has spent travelling, eating only macaroni cheese and dancing in dumpy clubs, all waiting for her big break.

Some people are lucky enough to be in an amazing situation without any effort. However, the majority of successful people become this way day by day. They do the simple things most people would not be willing to do. It is possible. What do you desire? The choice is yours! You get to choose! “Forget it, I’m not doing that,”Oder, will you tell me? “Yuck, this is icky! But I know this is what it takes. And the sooner I get started, the sooner I’ll reach my goal!”

Do something gross!
