Natural Golf introduced its first new Irons line in over four years, the ST Hybrids. The group that bought Natural Golf was led by me in August. My management team felt that the Natural Golf product line was excellent at the time. We could join the team and continue to improve the product over the years.
We decided within thirty days of taking over the company, we would reinvent Natural Golf’s whole club range, including Driver, Irons, Putters and Fairway Woods. Our goal was to offer you the highest quality products that will be able to match the natural golf single-plane swing. It was impossible to achieve gradual enhancement. Our goal wasn’t to be the most successful company, but to excel in the game of golf.
We are done with Beryllium Copper
We were able to make the change much quicker than we expected due to problems in our foundry and opportunities for business plans that required us do more than other golf companies.
Natural Golf’s club designs have won many awards. Many award winners are made from a technically challenging metal called Beryllium Copper. This is a dense, soft material with better performance and great looks. This metal alloy was used to make the Fairway Woods, PLUS Club Hybrids, and Natural Golf’s wedges. The new regulations for Beryllium Copper had passed and all foundries would no longer be casting Beryllium Copper. Four months were allotted to replace and redesign a third the products that we had been selling.
All New ST 110 Fairway Woods & Moe Signature Wedges
Bob Lukasiewicz was the club’s head designer. He set about creating new designs for these clubs. Bob used the Thin Face Technology (ST 110 Irons) to combine design elements from the multi-award winning Beryllium Copper Fairway Woods and thin face stainless to make a traditional pear-shaped fairway wood that is suitable for all levels of golfers.
A better wedge for natural golf has never been offered, but it is made of forged steel. The face is spun milled to provide the best in ball control. The replacement for the Beryllium Copper wedges was so successful in development that clubs were named after Moe Norman, the original in a new series of signature clubs. You can expect more players to improve in the future.
Opportunities – There are more clubs for golfers
We saw potential opportunities in our strategic planning sessions that were not open to any other golf club company. Many club companies would like to either sell custom-built, expensive clubs, or mass-market, lower-quality clubs. The Natural Golf philosophy states that players must use high-quality equipment to have success. However, we recognize that not everyone can afford top quality clubs.
Natural Golf is a non-profit organization that aims to promote the game of golf and bring in new players. A high-priced set of clubs may not be the best choice for beginners. However, they will need much more than their dad’s old steel and persimmon irons.

Bob and his crew had to do more work in order to design a set of quality irons and woodens. They would need semi-custom fitting and the ability for adjustment for lie angle when necessary.
Bob, his team of designers, reduced weight, adjusted production costs, and created a line that Natural Golfers could use to improve their game and provide playability for players up to mid-handicap. For a more customized fit and a lower price, 17-4 Steel is able to offer adjustable lie angles.
