These are the 5 methods to get a tee-time
- Pre-Reservations
- The Ballot
- Single Golfer
- The Old Course Experience
- Golf Tour Operator
1. Pre-Reservations
To bring the Advance Reservation Process in line with the Old Course Ballot, where there’s a draw to determine the winner of the season 2015, it has been changed.
Advance reservations will be accepted starting at 1000 BST Wednesday 27th August and lasting for 20 days until Monday 15th September when the window closes at 1400 BST. The allocation of tee times will be determined by a draw.
This change was made to relieve the stress of applying immediately after 1400 BST. Tee times will be assigned on a random basis, rather than being first to go.
You can submit your application by visiting the Ballot Page on St Andrews Links Website. It will be accessible until 27 August. This website contains useful information as well as guidelines to help you complete the application.
2. Daily Ballot
The Daily Ballot now has almost half of the St Andrews Old Course Tee Times left after Advance Reservations were allocated.
It allows those who couldn’t secure St Andrews Old Course times via advance reservations to have the opportunity to play on the Old Course.
The Daily Ballot Draw takes place 48 hours before the play date. Applicants must give their name, handicap and home club details by phone at the Old Course St Andrews starters box or in one of the Clubhouses.
Consider these important things when you enter the Ballot
- You must have at least 2 people to enter the Ballot.
- The following information is required: Name, handicaps, and home club
- Maximum handicaps for men are 24 and women 36, respectively
The Ballot may be entered by you
- At the Starters Box on the Old Course
- One of the Clubhouses
- Telephoning +44(0)1334 466666
All three options must be complete before 1400hrs, 2 days before the play date
- The Old Course will not be open on Fridays, so there is no Friday Ballot.
- Ballot winners must bring a current handicap card, record, or certificate. Letters of introduction from club professionals are not allowed.
Single Golfer
The Starters Box is available at the Old Course for single golfers. They will try to place them with smaller groups that are not more than four balls, and they can do so by visiting the Starters Box.
Highest Quality Tee Times Guaranteed
Although The Old Course Experience guarantees St Andrews Old Course premium tee times every day, they are extremely expensive and you must spend at least three days in St Andrews to get them.
Golf Tour Operators/ Local Hotel
Some local hotels and tour operators have guaranteed times on the Old Course. This is because these tee times sell out quickly and there can be an additional premium. This method includes a second St Andrews course.
