Tongue Power

An old saying is full of wisdom. It goes, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and whoever loves it will eat its fruit.”

You are so right. It is true. What you say can create emotions and situations in others. Positive words can hurt, but a kind word will help.

This concept is often viewed in terms of how we treat other people, which we find to be a good thing. In truth, I did write an article over the last month. “The Power of Praising People.”It is available on the internet if it was not there.

This is how I would like to discuss this idea in relation to myself. Is it possible to influence what we speak? Tremendously. This is the simple rule. Positive emotions, thoughts and feelings are what you should only say.

Here’s a great example. It is not okay to use the word “repeat” “I can’t”In our home. Why? Because we CAN! We can do the minimum. “I’ll try.”Our children are asked to share their opinions. “I’ll try.”We allow ourselves and our children to be led astray by the temptation of saying “I can’t,”Guess what? No! That’s not good!

What are your thoughts about yourself? Can we all fall for this trap? The other day, I was at work and was thinking about something that was wrong. I felt like I was getting out of control. Then I realized that I could choose the words I spoke to myself. I began to see and think positive things about myself. Then my life changed.

You know what it feels like to be in the backswing of a golf club and think, “That’s what I thought.” “I am going to shank this one.”How does it go? Then you shank it. It happens to me. What do you do? So I decide to stop my backswing and reset. I tell myself that I will hit the fairway straight. Is this what happens? Half the time, it hits it straight. The other half I smash it. But, improving your skill is an ongoing article. My chances of succeeding are at the very minimum increased. Negative thoughts can almost ensure my failure. Positive thoughts will increase my chances of success.

Sometimes a salesman will see someone walking through his doors and think, “Is that you?” “I’m not going to be able to make this sale.”It’s impossible. You won’t.

Many of us don’t realize that our negative thoughts about ourselves are something we do. Think about the things you’re saying to your self today. Ask a friend to help you identify if this is a habit. This is a sign that you need to make a change.

Now, don’t get me wrong. While self-talk cannot replace hard work and determination, it can help you to be more positive. You can find simple phrases to help you make it through each day more successfully. No matter what your job or situation, there will be simple phrases that you can use to build yourself up and keep you going on the path of success.

Your words and your conversations with yourself can create changes in your life. You can make positive or negative changes. We have the power to choose. It is our choice. To make a positive impact in your life, it’s important to use the power and potential of the tongue.

Your tongue is your power. Make use of it!
