Tip: Keep your Twisting Golf Bags from Twisting

Is your bag twisted on the walking cart of your golf course? Is it a problem? These tips will help you keep your bag in check.

Some golf carts can be twisted by a bag manufacturer, but others advertise that their bags are not designed to twist.

Your golf bag may occasionally turn if you have a walkie-tourist golf cart. You may find this annoying if your cart is a walking one. So what do I do? This problem can be solved in two ways: (1) Store-bought, (2) Homemade.

1. Solution:

Manufacturers of golf bags advertise the non-twisting capabilities on their bags. Here are some examples of non-twisting manufactured solutions:

  • Sleeves with anti-twist: The bag’s cart strap can be threaded through its anti-twist sleeves
  • Anti-twist strapThe bag’s strap attaches to the cart frame.
  • Bag bottoms are coated with non-slip material
  • Bag’s bottom shape

Manufacturers’ ads also hint at the possibility of bag twisting due to the bag’s weight and distribution of clubs.

2. 2. Homemade solutions

The following suggestions are recommended before shopping for a new replacement bag. They are all affordable. It is recommended that you try them in the following order.

  1. To determine if your club’s weight distribution is more balanced, but without losing access to the clubs, you can check it out.
  2. You can check your bag and see if you have a way to thread a cart or shopping strap through an opening.
  3. Take a bungee string and attach it to the frame. You could use this to prevent the bag from twisting.
  4. Alternately you could use the bungee string to find a hole or strap through which it can be threaded. This is a sort of anti-twist bag sleeves. The bottom of my bag has an umbrella hole, which would work well.
  5. Solution #4 is reversed. The bungee string should be fastened to the bag, and then threaded through a portion of the cart frame.
  6. Use a non-slip material, such as the one used in kitchen cabinets, to glue your bag’s bottom.
  7. It is possible to also apply the non-slip material directly to the cart, either inside or outside the upper strap.
  8. You might consider purchasing a lighter bag that has a “no twist” feature.

These solutions will work in your case. These tips should make your experience with golf more fun.
