Vale do Lobo, a luxurious resort on the beach in southern Portugal is situated between Quinta do Lago (on the Algarve) and Vilamoura (on the Algarve). Vale do Lobo lies just 20 minutes drive from Faro Airport. Vilamoura is 15 minutes and Albufeira 25 minutes.

It is a purpose built resort that runs along a pine and fig tree-covered valley. The beautiful lagoons are located at the Atlantic Ocean, Portugals Algarve coastline. This exclusive village is characterized by its Moorish architecture with red roofs, latticed balconies and moorish-style buildings. The majority of the accommodation is in luxury villas or up-market apartments. However, there are some luxury hotels which can cater for families, couples, and larger groups when they visit this area to enjoy their golfing holiday. Sports enthusiasts will find two great golf courses and an excellent tennis academy that boasts 14 courts. They also have a gym, fitness center, and riding school. There are three miles of beautiful golden sandy beaches that stretch along the coast, backed by low-red sandstone hills.

Two 18-hole courses are available at Vale do Lobo. Famous for the 16th hole, where players must drive through two ravines along the cliff face of The Royal Golf Club. The Ocean Course, designed by Sir Henry Cotton, is less challenging but just as exciting. The driving range is large enough to help you practice your swing, before taking on one of the 18 holes. You will enjoy the fairways lined with palm trees and almond trees that lead to the sea.

Barringtons Health Club can be found in the centre of the resort. This club is often visited by cricket teams as well as international teams. It offers many excellent amenities, including an indoor and outdoor pool, children’s pool, sauna, steam room and gym. There are also squash courts and table tennis tables, as well as a restaurant and bar.

In the evening, the bars and restaurants come alive with live music or discos at the beach. You can find a wide range of dishes at these restaurants, including international and local. Many restaurants overlook the Atlantic and offer breathtaking views from the shore.

Although golf is the most common activity on direct holiday to Vale do Lobo for many, the area offers plenty to do with the entire family.
