Do you see a lot of bald players on the PGA Tour or am I just crazy? I don’t mean receding hairlines, but baldness in general. Some people thought their hair looked terrible so they cut it. The regular PGA tour is what I am referring to. These are very young guys. The Champions Tour’s guys are not offended. It’s a great show.
When I was trying to unravel this mystery, I discovered that many balding men pride themselves on their appearance. These men feel an affinity with charismatic, bald men such as Yul Brynner and Bruce Willis, Vin Diesel or Sean Connery, Telly Savalas, and Telly Sallas. Men in the west see baldness as less of an issue and more of fashion statement. Patrick Stewart was called “The sexiest Man on TV”For his role as Captain JeanLuc Picard, Star Trek: The Next Generation.
What causes all the baldness? This can result from surgery, hormone imbalances, medications, infections, stress, and pregnancy. It is not the result of surgery. “we are pregnant”This is the type of pregnancy that men experience. This is the real deal. Many myths surround the causes of baldness. Surprise! Myth number 1. The myth that your mother can pass on baldness to you father. Studies have also revealed that someone with a balding parent is more likely to experience hair loss. That’s double the fun! Dad is the first grandpa. Some guys won’t have a chance. Myth #2. Baldness can be caused by mental problems or intellectual activity. That means that thinking too often can lead to a person pulling their hair out. You can think too much. Myth #3 “For some people, social standing accrued through intelligence can in mating compensate for physical attractiveness lowered by hair loss and therefore produce male offspring who are prone to both high intellect and hair loss.”What? What? This myth is my favorite. While emotional stress can lead to baldness, sexual frustrations and emotional distress may cause it. But bald people are often more active or virile than the rest. Which is it, then? Is it active or frustrated? This myth is one I’m sure you have never heard. Too much sexual activity can cause baldness. These guys must have thought that their mothers meant blindness all this time. (There’s a Tiger joke somewhere, but I won’t let it get in here for now. The sixth and final myth. Let’s get this out of the way. Baldness can be caused by tight hats Bingo!
My husband used to wear hats a lot when he was on tour. Many of these guys still wear their hair today, as they play on the Champions Tour. All of the young players wear hats. They actually wear completely coordinated outfits. They can wear outfits. An outfit is one that matches both the shirt and the pants. That’s it! It’s solved the mystery. Now it all makes sense. You must blame the hats. Are you assuming that the older generation simply listened better to their mothers?
