In modern golf swing, the wrist set is often misunderstood. Once you get to know the capabilities of the wrists, it will be easier to begin to utilize this powerful lever to its full potential.
Let me now ask you to practice a short exercise that will help you better understand the movements of your wrist. Your right arm should be in front. You will need to extend your right arm straight up and keep it parallel with the ground. After you are satisfied with the position, simply move your wrist in a vertical direction. You will feel the hammer’s impact on your wrist, as if it were hitting a nail in a piece wood. The wrist joint must be used to perform this motion. This will allow us to see the main point. You will feel the limited range of motion in your wrist joints by moving them vertically.
This is the second half of this exercise. The second part of this exercise is to place your right elbow in the same straight position and to move your wrist joint from the left to the right. The motion will be more complex and allow you to grasp the entire range of motion that this joint can perform. This exercise should only be performed by moving the wrist joint.
Golfers and people alike should understand that the wrist joint is a complex joint. It can perform amazing movement. As humans, we take its workings for granted. It isn’t a fault. Let me demonstrate. It would take a lot of effort to show me how to move in straight lines, covering all angles and details. The same reason we take certain things for granted is why we learn to properly use them at an early age. A lever system is the basis of our human bodies. This lever system functions in geometric spaces. This is where real understanding and growth will occur. Let’s get started.
You may have read my previous article about the “Takeaway-in-the-Golf-Swing”EzineArticles will help you to understand how to use the wrist joint correctly to improve your golf swing. This move I call the “The” “RE-ROUTE”The club. Without swinging your arms, you can set the wrist joint to the back and the shaft of the club will glide along the side. The club head will seem to have moved in the opposite direction of what modern golf swing theories recommend. This is one of the best moves you can make in order to improve your ability and power when playing golf. When it comes to golf swing performance, this is the most natural and geometrically sound motion for the human body.
This lever can be activated at just the right moment to allow the wrist angle to reach a perfect 45 degrees in three dimensional space. You will notice that your hands feel closer to you. You will experience a decrease in width when you swing back. This is contrary to modern swing instruction. You don’t need to worry about it as this is the correct movement that you should be using. This is how a professional figure skater would view it. The figure skater seems to seem faster every time they spin. You will be able to see how this amazing move is possible if your attention is focused on what they do with their hands and arms while doing it. The center of the body becomes closer as their arms and hands are closer to each other. This creates a more aerodynamic motion that allows them to increase speed with every rotation. You will soon realize why your hands must be close to the body when you are playing golf. You will feel empowered and able to accelerate your golf swing learning. You will actually be doing geometric optimization on your golf swing, even though you may not be aware of it.
Watch out, we’ll be sharing the correct way to reach the top of your back swing and introducing the lever of elbow in the next article. We are very excited to be able share this information with you. Until next time. Enjoy the game.
