Young Michelle Wie Cracks European Tour Lineup – PR Move Or Pure Talent?

As the European Masters draw closer, the buzz is building over qualification issues and one player invited. Michelle Wie is the vibrant, young player. This 16-year-old Hawaiian is still full of girlish charm and her game has taken the world by storm. Ernie Els and other great players have given her glowing endorsements.

However, there have been golfers who feel differently. Wie, who is sponsored by Omega in Switzerland for this year’s Cran-surSierre event, is correct to feel this sponsorship is not fair. Many of the men think that she is taking away a slot from a carded competitor who earned it on the tour.

Some speculate this may be a publicity stunt on Omega’s part, and not the fact she is an experienced golfer who can make the cut. It is a fact that Wie was not able to make the cut in the men’s tournament. This happened earlier in the month in South Korea. It has been speculated that her opponent in the tournament wasn’t as strong.

Wie is a young female golfer who has not won a major in LPGA. Wie also has appeared in just eight events for men. Wie can drive with big guys and doesn’t have any problems with her short game. Yet, she struggles against men.

All the best to her in this next event.
