Our society is rapidly changing and the pressures of being professionally productive, socially respected, and physically fit all exist. Modern Moms don’t have to have these goals in mutually exclusive ways. They can even have their cake and eat it, especially when it comes down to physical fitness. What is the best way to do this? It is important to maximize your time for fitness.
You can improve your health by exercising 20 minutes a week. Your fitness and endurance will increase by 30 minutes. For fat loss, you will need to exercise for at least forty-five minutes. It starts with believing you’re worth it. A fit body can be sexy.
Modern Mom will give you the tools and tips to help balance the many pieces of life.
You can combine upper and low-body exercises. This will cut your training time in half. To add more bicep curls and strength to your lunge, you can do a set of bicep curls while doing the exercise.
You should choose compound exercises. Exercises that target multiple muscle groups at once are faster than isolated exercises. The leg press and the chest fly are examples of compound exercises.
Circuit Train – This is a great way to combine cardio with strength training. It will increase your heart rate so you get both anaerobic (strengthening) and aerobic benefits. You might try the following circuits: jump rope; bicep curls; jumping jacks; push-ups; jog in Place, squats and mini-trampoline. In under thirty minutes, you can increase your metabolism by repeating this circuit three times.
o Interval Train – By using active rest and work, you can burn more calories. Start by walking slowly for two minutes, then moving to jogging for thirty seconds. Next, you can go on to jogging for 1 minute and brisk walking for 2 minutes. Gradually increase your time for each to at least two minutes, and eventually you will be able to spend less time running and more time jogging.
You can increase your intensity by increasing the speed. This will allow you to cover greater distances and burn more calories over time. Although you may have to gradually increase your intensity, it will make you more efficient and allow for you to reduce the time spent exercising.
You can stock up on 30 minute exercise videos. These video’s are updated regularly and cater to all levels of fitness. In a year, you could burn up to 18 pounds per week by doing four 30 minute videos per week.
Multitasking is possible if you use the time on your bicycle to review professional literature, make notes for presentations or keep up with your pilot. This will help you stay current and also save time at the office.
You can schedule your next meeting at the gym. It is common to hold a business meeting in the tennis court, racquetball court, or on the golf course. This can make everyone feel more involved, and it allows you to get out of your office while still getting paid.
Accelerate – You should pick up the speed wherever you can, whether it’s at work or shopping. Run errands, literally. You can burn more calories if you do not watch your metabolism.
You can lose up to 800 calories per week by making lifestyle changes. You could lose up to 11 lbs in a single year. It’s worth taking up the stairs, even if it is only the 10th. You will find that it becomes easier. Keep your shoes close at hand and park your car in that last spot. It’s possible to take a stroll, go to the gym, or play with your children at the park.
You can turn time-wasters into time-savers by contracting muscle groups when you are standing or driving. Stretch at your desk and take a short walk during coffee breaks. It is just as beneficial to do three 10-minute sessions than one 30-minute. Workout at lunch, then go to work.
o Incorporate mind & body exercises – choosing a discipline like yoga or pilates will not only give you the physical benefits of a well toned body, but you will also enjoy the relaxation and stress relieving enhancements as well.
o Schedule 30 minute workouts one month ahead of your appointment. You should keep the commitment just like you would for any other meeting. When it is time for exercise, set your alarm.
o Sex counts. While I don’t recommend sex as a substitute for a structured exercise routine, it does help to burn calories. All activities including sex will be more enjoyable if you are fitter.
You can save time by exercising. The fitter you are the more you get sleep, which means you have more time and more energy to do your daily chores. You could live longer, healthier years if you exercise – it is a great investment in your health and well-being.
