Build Your Own Rear Golf Cart Seat

The typical golf cart can be equipped with two to four seats, or a rear rack for carrying extra luggage. An additional seat can be purchased if you need to transport more people. This can be purchased at your local hardware store.

It is important to measure the dimensions of your front seat and mark them on a piece plywood. You should wear safety glasses and use a circular saw to cut.

Use scissors to cut a vinyl piece that is three times as long as the plywood.

The foam should be cut to the same dimensions as the plywood. The foam is then placed on top of the plywood with a spray adhesive. You should allow the adhesive to fully dry.

Place the vinyl, with the inside facing up on the flooring. Place the plywood and foam on top of it. Secure the vinyl around the plywood by pulling it tight.

Take the measurement from the top bar up to the back bumper. Next, measure the distance from that point to the bumper. For support of the rear seat, you will need two pieces of two-inch-square steel pipe cut with a right angle grinder. For stability of the rear seat supports bars, make a 2″ square cut in the distance between the rear roof stabilizers.

The bumper should be at 90 degrees from the seat and support points. You can hold the pipe with a vice and heat the propane torch on the marks to make it bent at a 90 degree angle using a square. You can also do the same thing with another pipe.

Attach the first angled pipe in the direction of the rear roof stabiliser bar to the rear bumper. Bore the pipe and roof stabilizer bars using a 1/4 inch bit drill. Use bolts to fix the pipe to the stabilizer bars. The other side should be done the same. Use the drill to attach the stabilizer bars to the rear support bars at the top. Leave a gap of two inches between the pipe bend and the brace.

There are two elastic straps that hold the seat securely to the support.
