Is the first downswing of golf possible? Are you using your hands and shoulders? Or your feet and your legs? Both schools have their followers, but more golfers agree the lower body is the best place to start the downswing. Studies have shown that the lower body is the most effective place to start the swing. Attention! The lower body does not always refer to the legs or feet.
Like me, you’ve done it all, including swinging your left knee forward, to moving the right leg toward the target and sliding your legs toward the goal. All of these actions seem to start the club moving in different directions, but not always in the correct direction. Here’s a tip: If you focus on your legs and start the swing, it is more likely that you overdo the movement. You will end up with an exaggerated or exaggerated slide. This can throw the body off-balance and ruin the downswing. Overdoing movement will occur when you concentrate on one aspect of your body. You will wreck your swing if you focus too much on the hips and legs.
It is easy to start the downswing by moving your center of gravity towards the left. Your belly button is the center of gravity.
The secret to my success is here. Assume that the twelve o clock on the clock face lies directly in front. The belly button will be moving towards the right heel as you complete the back swing. As the club continues to move backwards slowly, you can push your belly button into the ten-o’clock position. It’s possible to do this quite hard without causing injury to your hips or legs.
The forward pull, while continuing the backswing, will extend your arms further for an arcy look and boost the X-factor. While the legs and hips will move to support this move, they will still be in control. Just allow your extended arms and club, to extend in response to the tug of the belly button.
This is a great example. Go to the nearest park with six- to eight-year olds and take a look at their perfect swings. Here you will find many little perfect golf swings. They will continue to swing forward if they do not follow the instructions on how to position themselves correctly.
Your perfect downswing is just waiting to be unleashed.
