Is your pain affecting your golf game?
How is it impacting your life?
Do you get tired of it all?
The pain you feel is an indicator. God gave your body this indicator so that you know when to address the problem. You can cause more injury if it isn’t addressed immediately. This will lead to greater dysfunction, compensation and decreased athletic performance.
Do you also play with pain golf?
Guess what? Your game is actually getting worse. You are actually making your game worse by playing with pain. It will disrupt your ability reproduce consistent swings and affect your natural body mechanics.
What does this mean?
This means you will need to spend more with your instructor in order to learn compensation moves so that you can continue playing golf. What’s not to love about going to your professional golf coach with the most physical support possible? This is when you can make a difference in your golf game. That’s progress.
What can we do to stop this cycle starting?
Simply…exercise, lifestyle and change!
You are likely to be between 32 and 56 years old if you’re like most golfers. These people are most likely to experience some type of pain or decreased function and range of motion in one or more of their joints.
Is this acceptable? Is it possible that society accepts the reality that people get what they want? “older”This means that you need to accept what is being offered.
This is absurd! It is time to fight!
Get your body back You have the power to take back your body! “play”Play golf with your grandkids or grandchildren without any pain or lack of athleticism.
“OK,”You say: “so you have my attention Dee, so what is the best way to get rid of my pain and dysfunction?”
Simple…
Exercise,
Organic food is the best.
And get good sleep,
Drink plenty of water.
Finally,
1. Exercise
Every day, you must be active for 30 minutes. The power and benefits of weight training far outweigh the cardio-work benefits, which is why I highly recommend you hire a qualified coach in exercise or conditioning. To create an exercise/stretching program that is specific to your needs ….your body and not someone else’s, the coach must perform baseline testing. “fitness industry”Likes to be active!
It is crucial because it affects the “fitness industry”Most people treat you like everyone else. In reality, however, you are unlike anyone in this universe!
It’s like snowflakes. Every snowflake is unique. Every human being is unique! Each person is unique in their own way. There are many ways to describe it. “fitness industry’ treats you as if you are part of a field of snow, and we all know that a field of snow is comprised of nothing but a countless number of individual snowflakes, right? This is why you need a coach that does testing…it allows for a specific approach for you and your issues.
I am a proponent of the importance of weight training versus cardio work by itself.
Here are a few of the benefits of weight training:
1. Improvement of posture- the foundation of movement!
2. Increase blood flow to the peripheral parts of your body…this with lower high blood pressure for example!
3. Strengthening of:
Muscles
Tendons
Ligaments
Your skeletal system
Your cardiovascular system
Your brain
4. Improvement of balance and coordination
5. Heightened body awareness
6. Better stability and mobility
7. Improved performance of your body’s organ systems
8. Etc., Etc., Etc.!
Do you think any of those eight things are important to golf?
2. Eat organic food:
If you are not feeding yourself and your family organic foods, you are literally slowly killing you and your family!
I am not one to believe the whole “global warming” hysteria, mostly because there are plenty of scientists to rebuke the info that’ being presented as fact to society.
But the biggest reason to me, is we have a far bigger problem with our excessive use of herbicides, fungicides, pesticides, and other chemicals we (the world) use in commercial farming and livestock production!
Do you know that the US alone puts over a billion tons of these products into our soil every year? Yes, that’s a BILLION!
Now I am sure you’ve heard the saying, “The soil in which your food was grown is what makes it good.”
Well, believe it and make the change for you and your family’s sake!
After all, in order to be a “Certified organic farm means that the land has been left uncultivated for at least three years before being used. The water supply must also be certified and tested. All seeds and plants must be organic; machinery must not be harmful to the soil and land.
And, ultimately, organic is part of the solution. “global warming”But you can be part of the solution to prevent or eradicate disease from your family and your descendants.
And when it comes down to golf, organic food is much more nutritious than regular food. This means your body can eat less of it’s nutrients, giving you more energy, which in turn will allow you to do more. “fighting weight!”As we know, if you’re at an “ideal”If you are overweight, you’ll have more energy to do your best mentally and physically.
3. Get good sleep!
Did you know that most people walk around in fog and daze because of poor nutrition, lack of exercise and not enough water? Combine that with external and internal stressors such as work to make it difficult for anyone to get quality sleep.
It is not true!
We see many clients with non-functional thyroids or Adrenal glands in our clinic. Their frustration is because they are unable to lose weight and they lack energy. Also, other vital things such as ED can creep into their daily lives. Ï
You can change most of these scenarios by getting more sleep. That’s right! It is best to get to bed by 9:30 and go to sleep around 10. The ideal time to wake up is at 6 am.
It is vital to keep this time frame in mind because your body can heal itself from 10pm to 2am. Then, it will shift into mental recovery at 2am-6am.
Get to bed and take some naps!
4. Drink good water!
Gentlemen and ladies, you’re dehydrated
Do you have a clear urine or a yellowish color? You are likely dehydrated if your urine is colored yellow.
Is your skin dry? You are dehydrated!
Is your arthritis present? You are dehydrated!
Are you a member of the following? “high cholesterol?” You are dehydrated!
Have you got high blood pressure? You are dehydrated!
The body is 70% water. All cells in the body, which number over a billion! Every cell in our body (and there are over a trillion!) depends on water to function properly. You will have a negative effect on your body’s ability to function at its most crucial level, the cell, if you don’t drink enough water each day.
Did you know that dehydration will affect not only your physical performance but also your mental health! Also, dehydration can make you mentally slow and sluggish.
The simplest way to think about water in relation to the body is that it’s oil or radiator fluid for a car.
You’ll be calling a tow truck in no time if you have run out of fluids or other fluids. Dehydration is the same thing to your body. If you are dehydrated, all functions in your body will suffer. You will need to call your doctor.
The bottom line is that if you are looking to improve your golf game, make sure that you have enough of the following
