Everyone has experienced the frustration of trying harder to get the ball to land further on the fairway. Even though the ball remains relatively straight, it is often that the ball hits the fairway shorter than usual. When we want to simply swing with ease, this is what happens. “soft”We hit the ball farther than usual with our hands.
Many people don’t think about how physics can be applied to their golf swing, even those who are the ones that grab their clubs and go to the fairway. Halfway through, our eyes start to glaze over. If we apply simple principles of physics, we might be able to hit the ball further with less effort. These concepts are used by top-level golfers, who have learned them over years through trial and error. Many of us do not want to spend the time necessary for trial and error.
The Trebuchet, a siege weapon called, was created around 1200AD. The Trebuchet could throw rocks and other items much further than any weapon before it. It was also a smaller weapon. Their power was derived from centrifugal forces, which I saw at the Tower of London. It was very easy to fire these projectiles precisely because of the force that generated their power.
The Trebuchet can be compared to the perfect golf swing, although it may take some imagination. Trebuchet’s motion works exactly the same way as an unpowered golf swing. A centrifugally-powered swing is one where your hands and wrists are not required to ensure a straight strike of the ball.
This is where the source of centrifugal force comes from. For the greatest force, we need it from our strongest muscle groups. That is our core. The club’s head speed will increase if our hips make the perfect movement, and the hands bring the club to hitting position. Simply stated, it happens when our hip action begins the swing while the hands are waiting for the club to hit the ground. Meanwhile, the core creates centrifugal forces and the hips reach the target at 90 degrees.
Golfers fall into one of two categories according to the way they swing. These golfers rely solely on centrifugal force to increase club speed and do not rely on their hands or wrists. Power is dependent on hitting. Although there is no such thing as a “pure” golfer who can only swing the club or are hitters, nearly everyone should work to learn more about golfing.
