Alicante’s Best Beaches

The heart of Alicante, at the base the “Monte Benacantil”You will see the famous 900 meter stretch of golden-sand beach called the “Playa del Postiguet”. You can find it in an easily accessible location with lines of palm tree that highlights the gorgeous esplanade. This area is also home to many bars and restaurants. The Blue Flag award for cleanliness has been given to it. It is busy during summer, when the warm winter temperatures in Alicante make it ideal for use all year.

You can take a stroll down the beach to reach the small, sandy beach known as the “Playa del Coco”This is where local fishermen used land their catch. You can still find the small harbour with restaurants and cafes here, where you can enjoy breathtaking views over the ocean.

A beach known as “Beach of Alicante” is located to the north-east coast. “Playa de la Albufereta”Its name derives from the little coastal lake, which once belonged here and had a port that was used by the Roman community of Lucentum. You can continue on this beach to Playa de la Almadraba, a sandy beach that is perfect for both swimmers or watersports enthusiasts.

It “Cabo de las Huertas”If you are looking for a remote, rugged beach to explore then this is your spot. Cala Palmera or Cala Cantelalares can be used to achieve a tan all around.

It “Playa San Juan”Beach and the “El Campello”Beaches are located further north, along the coast (about twenty-five minutes drive from the capital). El Campello has many bars and restaurants that spill out onto a beautiful promenade which runs along the golden sands. They both have gentle sloping beaches that are safe for kids and an area where fishing boats can land.
