Why Lessons in Golf are so Valuable

My first mistake in judgement when I began playing golf was 26 years ago.

My initial thought was that I could just learn how to golf swing by reading a book. From there, it was all downhill.

My hours would be spent at the range, kicking balls and cursing golf gods.

The course was not a success for me.

I didn’t know what was wrong so I bought another book. Then, video instruction came into fashion and I started to purchase instructional tapes. Similar result: complete lack of results.

It was a waste of time to play bad golf, when I could have made a difference and been playing great golf.

That is what it means “one thing”What are you waiting for? Take lessons. To be completely clear: I took lessons for about three times in the course of my 20-year career. That I stayed with golf for so many years is testament to its addictive power.

This is what I mean by taking several lessons. The same teacher pro. Do not make the error of jumping from teacher to teacher. This is the same as purchasing one swing gimmick or book after another. Keep your teacher. Learn about the style of your teacher and your own swing.

It is worth the effort to learn from a great teacher. I am sure that many will also agree.

TAKE LESSONS if you are new to the game. If you are a veteran player, take lessons. What more evidence does a weed hacker who is weed-whacking need if the pros keep paying big bucks for big-name instructors?

What are the best ways to find a good teacher? My swing coach, Mark Greenwood (Director of Swing Machine Golf Canada), I found out about through my now-wife. It can pay off! However, there can also be some payoffs.

Word of mouth is one method. Calling your local golf association (PGA, etc.) Asking for recommendations is another way to go. Search online for information or use the yellow pages. Ask your buddies who play golf.

You can’t tell whether a teacher is worth their time and money until you have found them. You will be impressed by how they present and show their ideas and how quickly you can absorb their teaching methods. Recognizing that they are certified isn’t enough. This does not mean they have passed the exam.

Teaching pro who can communicate effectively with their swing and work well with the body is a good one.

The time they spend talking with students or clients is another sign that a teacher has a commitment. Teachers usually charge per hour, or by the hour. You should not allow them to exceed the time allotted. “getting it”They don’t ask for payment. “overtime”You’ve finally found your instructor.

You’re now putting your money into good use. These fundamentals can be learned by getting out there!
